What to expect: Participants are encouraged to plan their wardrobe according to the following: Days are generally warm and sunny. Evenings are generally cool. Temperatures range from 80 to 40 degrees Farenheit. Dinners/evenings are casual. Tours include walking and standing in remote, unpaved areas.

Due to space constraints, please limit yourself to one piece of luggage. While your one piece does not have to be the exact size of an airline carry-on, we do ask that it not be too much larger. Please be reasonable and keep in mind that you may be carrying it up and down flights of stairs—some of our hotels do not have elevators. You may, of course, also bring a backpack or daypack for your camera equipment and daily necessities.

Tour costs do not include: Travel expenses to and from point of tour origin. All items of a personal nature such as laundry, dinners, restaurant lunches, restaurant breakfasts, alcoholic beverages, optional excursions or deviations from scheduled tour, individual transfers to join or leave the group, etc.

Health/medical insurance: Travelers should review personal health/medical coverage and be aware of what coverage applies and does not apply during out-of-state travel status.

Eligibility: Travelers are encouraged to be in good health, enjoy traveling as part of a group, and be able to adhere to time schedules. We consider this a moderately strenuous program, involving standing for long periods of time, walking, crouching, and climbing on ladders. Travelers must provide early advisement of any medical problems or dietary restrictions. Please check with your personal physician or local health department for information and recommendations regarding your specific personal needs in rural areas in the U.S. Arizona State Museum reserves the right to terminate participation (without refund) of any person on the tour should such person’s health, actions, or general deportment impede the operation of the tour or the rights or welfare of other participants.
