About The Wall

The wall is organized into columns and shelves. From left to right, the first three columns display prehispanic and protohistoric pottery, and the second three columns show historic and contemporary pots. Within these major divisions, items are arranged by culture and geography, roughly moving from west to east as you look from left to right.

The vessels displayed in the Arnold and Doris Roland Wall of Pots were selected by Arizona State Museum curators to illustrate continuity and change over nearly two millennia of pottery making in the Southwest. We hope you enjoy your visit to this striking display of the living pottery traditions of peoples native to our region.
