Do I have the player?

If you see the message "QuickTime is Installed" to the right you have what you need.

If not, you can download the QuickTime PlayerOpens in a new window from Apple for free.

What if I can't or don't want to download the player?

You will not be able to view the virtual reality images. Sometimes there will be a regular image alternative, but not always. Look for a link that says "View Still Image."

Are there different kinds of virtual reality images?

We have two types on our site: spaces and objects.

In a virtual reality space you can "turn around" to look at the things around you and use links to move to different areas or find out more about what you are looking at.

With a virtual reality object you can move it around to look at it from different angles.

How do I navigate through a virtual reality space?

Click and drag your mouse left and right over the image to view a panorama of the space "around you."

When the cursor changes to one of these link icons: QTVR link icon or QTVR link icon, click to move to a different area or to find out more about what you are looking at.

How do I "handle" a virtual reality object?

Click and drag your mouse over the image to move the object and view it from different angles.

The virtual reality images won't move, what's wrong?

Virtual reality images can be quite large. They could take up to a minute or more to download completely over slower connections. You will not have full control over the images until they download completely.

The virtual reality images won't print, what's wrong?

The virtual reality images cannot be printed. If there is an option to "View Still Image" you can print the still image but you won't be able to choose your view.

I clicked on a link to view a virtual reality image but nothing happened, what's wrong?

We often display virtual reality spaces in a new window. If you have a pop-up blocker you may need to allow pop-up windows for our site. (Don't worry, we do not have any pop-up ads on our site.)

Or the window may be hidden behind other windows. You can use your taskbar (or, for Macs, the dock) to bring up a hidden window.

I've "lost" my virtual reality window. How can I get it back?

When a virtual image has links to more information about what you are looking at, that information will come up in a different window. There will be a link at the bottom of the page to bring back the virtual image. If you don't like switching between the windows, you can resize them so you can see them both at the same time.

The virtual reality window may get hidden behind other windows for other reasons too. If there's no link to bring back the virtual image, check your taskbar (or, for Macs, the dock) to look for the hidden window.

If you have accidentally closed the virtual reality window, clicking on a link to re-open it will take you back to the starting point.

I'm still having problems. What can I do?
