Byron Cummings in Northern Arizona

Byron Cummings was director of the museum and Chair of the Department of Archaeology between 1915 and 1938. His research projects included excavations in northeastern Arizona during the summers and at sites in the Tucson area during winters.

This Sosi Black-on-white jar was excavated by Cummings from Sheep Corral Cave in 1918.
