Arizona State Museum is home to the most comprehensive collection of Southwest Native American whole-vessel ceramics anywhere in the world. Systematically collected and studied for more than a century, the collection includes nearly 20,000 pots that document 2,000 years of history and culture In the American Southwest and Northern Mexico. Research and study of this collection has established the very foundation for our understanding of the past.

The collection reflects the vibrant artistry and rich traditions of every cultural group in the region. It demonstrates a cultural legacy of enduring meaning and beauty that is an integral part of the region today. It is this collection, and the efforts to preserve and care for it, that have earned Official Project status of Save America's Treasures.

Save America's Treasures is dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the unique historic and cultural resources that are so important in defining us a people.
