“My sister Lynda wove a lot as a child, encouraged by our parents. After college, she stopped weaving. After our other sister passed away and when I got my weaving spirit back, I felt like I was the only one in the family doing this and I needed help. Lynda was thinking the same thing. Weaving has brought us closer together. This rug won a blue ribbon at Santa Fe Indian Market.” —Barbara Ornelas
“I marvel at how straight Aunt Lynda’s rug edges are. My lines can get wavy. When I see her rugs, I think, ‘I want to do that.’” —Michael Ornelas
