About the Interviewees

Salvador Andrade attended first, second and third grades at Menlo Park starting in 1945. He has been a continuous resident in the Menlo Park community since his birth.
Evangelina Cordova, born in Tucson in 1927, attended Menlo Park School in in the 1930s and ’40s.
John Howard Henkel is the grandson of Henry E. Schwalen, who was the founder of Menlo Park Subdivision. Mr. Henkel attended Menlo Park School in the 1930s.
Robert Jacquez is the great-grandfather of Menlo fifth-grade student Monique Ramirez, and a long-time resident of the Menlo Park Neighborhood. He attended Menlo Park School in the 1930s.
Hector Moreno is the tata of fifth grader, Arielle Kuzdall. He attended Menlo Park school in the late 1930s.
Matt Perri moved to Menlo Park near the corner of Bonita and Alameda in 1945. He remembers the Santa Cruz River and his teachers at Menlo Park school fondly.
Irene Peterson has lived in Menlo Park since 1957 and is the grandmother of Menlo fifth grade student Jeanette Gonzalez.
Opha Probasco has lived in Tucson since 1925. He attended second and third grades at Menlo Park Elementary from 1926 to 1929.
Bertha Sanchez has lived in Menlo Park for 40 years. Her ten children and three grandchildren have all attended Menlo Park school.
Alice Silva shared photos and documents of her father who was born in 1911 and attended Menlo Park in 1918.
