My maternal great uncle, Richard Rojas... was shot in the right arm, right leg and one inch above the heart during WW II. When the German soldiers went to bayonet my Tio, they saw he was more dead than alive. They just kicked him over. He dragged himself for three hours to the front lines where he received help. It is a miracle he is still alive.
I knew a little about my great great uncle. But I learned a lot about him when oral history came because I had to write a story. I asked my nana and mom to tell me a little bit about my uncle and about the war. What made me proud about my uncle is that he served for America.
