This unique, family-oriented event celebrated the opening of ASM’s exhibition:

IN FLIGHT: Adriel Heisey's Images of Trincheras Archaeology

Stone walls of a trincheras site from aboveNationally recognized photographer and author, Adriel Heisey, captures the essence of the Southwest landscape with spectacular images of “trincheras” archaeological sites.


Highlights of the event:
  • Adriel Heisey showed guests his ultralight airplane.
  • and signed copies of his books.
  • Participants signed up for tours of trincheras ruins on Tumamoc Hill

Jointly presented by ASM and
Conaculta - INAH, Instituto Nacional de Antroplogia e Historia

The celebration featured the ancient art of kite making and kite flying with
Arizona Free Flyers
Visitors enjoyed kite building, kite flying, kite displays, and learning about kite flying traditions from around the world.
