"N. A. & Lottie Morgan Out hunting ore" "The Indians ran off our Burro's but we'll find them." Nate and Lottie Morgan came down from Tonapah, Nevada. They had a burro wagon, and they crossed the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry. They had a mine that they named the Morgan Mine. She had a little .22 rifle that she brought with her and always carried. Nate always went off fishing out by Rocky Point, Mexico. Sometimes he took other people fishing there for money. He left Lottie home by herself at the mine. They had a house at what later became known as Morgan Camp. |

"A Musical Prospector Henry Taylor" "and his bean eating Cat 'Snow'" Henry Taylor came from the deep South. He always wore a handlebar mustache. He was partners with Bill Coplen for a while but they never got rich. "Only 1 in 1,000 ever makes it." Henry was an Arizona Ranger, and he served at Ajo during the Wobbly strike at the mine. Once Henry found a chunk of rock full of gold. He took it into Ajo for testing. Sadly, "his mine was in the rock"-there was no more gold than what he had found in that rock. Mrs. Savage had the trading posts at Sells and Covered Wells, and she was a partner with Henry. He always carried a fiddle that he played. He later gave it to one of Mrs. Savage's daughters. |
