Portraits of Cloth: Tohono O'odham Quilts of Goldie Richmond - Main Page

ShareShare this page

The exhibition at the museum featured three of Goldie’s quilts with themes related to the Tohono O’odham (formerly known as Papago). One of them, entitled "Papago Indian Activity's (sic)" quilt, currently in ASM’s permanent collection, has been designated one of the most significant quilts of the 20th century. The original exhibition also included an array of “Goldie-abilia,” including an extraordinary crocheted man-in-the-maze doily.
