CONCLUSION
Artifacts recovered from the Silver Bell sites provide tangible evidence
of life in a nineteenth century boomtown and in more ephemeral work-related
camps. Though clearly a rough-and-tumble existence, for some, life there
had certain refinements; for others, it was full of hard but necessary
tasks and occasional entertainments. The singular importance of the railroad
at the turn of the century cannot be adequately expressed by its limited
remains.
