This web presentation highlights sites and projects associated with two areas administered by the Bureau of Land ManagementOpens in a new window. Collections from these recently excavated sites are housed at the Arizona State Museum. These particular site complexes were selected because of the size of the collections, the temporal range of the occupation, and the diversity of associated activities: the Nogales Wash Complex has a substantial prehistoric occupation, along with a historic military camp that was associated with the Mexican rebellion and the U.S. response to raids by Pancho Villa between 1916 and 1920; and the Silver Bell Complex is featured because of its association with mining and the development of the railroads.
