Birth of the Santa Clara Harvest Dance
It smells like red blossoms,
Pebbles were poking my feet as
I walked.
I saw the amazing things that humans are doing
In their land.
It was amusing for me,
But the other fluffy rabbits were scared.
I stayed in the land but the others ran home.
At the humans’ home it was raining, there was
Something covering their homes.
It was black and it smelled like smoke, so it
Choked me.
Rain was falling from the dark blue sky and
The thunder sounded like a heard of wild buffalo
Running across the plains.
Their moccasins were soft like a fluffy cat
Their hands were red form beating the drums.
I felt like I was in a never-ending story.
I could stand here forever.
