The Hopi Mixed Dance

I am a little girl.
Watching the Hopi Mixed Dance.
I could smell the rain.

When I hear the dancers stomp
Their brown and red moccasins on the ground.

It reminds me of,
When I hear the beautiful drumbeats that
Almost bring tears to me.

I am a little girl watching the dancers dance around me.

I’m thinking of the smell of red blossoms,
Blossoming in spring.

I am a little girl watching
The Hopi Mixed Dance.
