Lonely

In the hazy glow of the taillights and
The blowing of the wind, we hear the real nice
And real low tone of a lonesome animal.

In the painting, I saw people greeting the
Spring Spirits. I heard a small voice singing a
Native song.
In the painting, I felt the adobe wall it felt so
Rough. I could smell rain; I could tell that the
Rain was coming.

In the hazy glow of the taillights the lonesome
Animals run into their homes because they know
That the rain is coming.
The wind blows as a sign that
The Spirits are coming.
