Beneath Majesty

The velvety purple maroon mesas
Were blocking the sun from
Shining on the adobes.

It smelled like gasoline
Being burned in a big fire.

I heard the sound of drums beating.

There where adobe objects for
Their homes.
The blankets hanging on the adobes
Looked soft with blue and red spots.

The hills were rough big and the color
Dark brown.
