Hohokam shell bracelets

SHELL BRACELETS

Material: shell (Glycymeris sp.)

Carved shell bracelets are a hallmark of the Hohokam culture of central-southern Arizona. The most elaborate bracelets frequently feature a frog or a bird-and-snake motif, as do these two examples.
