Arizona Archaeological and Historical SocietyResearch, Scholarship and Travel GrantsCurrent Grants Information and Application
Forms The Society provides scholarships and grants for the direct support of research in Southwestern archaeology, anthropology, ethnohistory, and history. For more information on applying for grants, contact Laurie Webster or Jenny Adams. In addition to scholarships and travel grants, a wide range of research projects have received funding from AAHS including: specialized artifact analysis; studies of social, economic and political integration; identification of geologic sources of stone used in ancient artifact manufacture; and absolute dating analyses. Research and scholarship awards from the Society range up to $500 per project. The Scholarship and Research Grants program is supported through a fund-raising raffle held by AAHS every year. This effort is strongly supported by Southwestern businesses and nonprofit organizations which donate many of the prizes given away in the December raffle. Past prizes have included accommodations at major Southwestern resorts, contemporary Native American pottery, Southwestern craft items, and gift certificates for merchandise and dinners. * PDF requires Adobe Acrobat Reader |
